Professors Mauricio Zambrano-Bigiarini and Ivo Fustos of the Department of Civil Engineering at the Universidad de La Frontera expressed their opinion on the news “Specialist ensures that in five years Temuco will run out of water” published on September 1, 2019 in the newspaper Austral de Temuco and then reproduced by the newspaper El Mercurio.

The academics expressed that, given the amount of information currently available on the water situation in the region, it is impossible to predict with an adequate level of confidence the date on which Temuco will run out of water, if that happens at some point.
