Due to the extended drought affecting central Chile, farmers in the area between the Coquimbo and Maule regions estimate that 10 000 animals have already died, including abortions that occur due to lack of food and water (5 000 in Valparaíso; 2 thousand in Coquimbo, and another 3 thousand in O’Higgins and el Maule).
